 The first thing Xander does is organize teams for the daily battles. No more of this free for all nonsense.

“Don’t think I know what I’m doing?” he asks. “Fine, you take first pick for your team, and we’ll see who wins.”

It’s not even close. He’s spent years commanding mightier warriors than these. “And they smelled better, too,” he thinks.

Gradually, the warriors relearn concepts like the shield wall. A few of the most recent additions even know field tactics more modern than Napoleon’s time.

Soon enough, the other gods are coming to Odin’s hall to lay odds nightly.
